Rugby kit, designed from scratch.
From £30 a player, made in the UK.

Peaq builds custom rugby kits for clubs at every level — grassroots union and league sides, school and college teams, university clubs, touring sides and corporate sevens. Crest, colours, sponsor, numbering and the full size spread, designed around how your squad actually plays.

Three finishes — sublimation, silicone, holographic. One studio standard, short runs, honest lead times, and a sizing process built for a squad where the front row and the back three are not remotely the same shape.

Everything you need
to commission a rugby kit.

Commissioning a rugby kit is a dozen decisions made in about a fortnight, usually by a volunteer committee, usually with a treasurer asking pointed questions and a first fixture already in the diary. This is the page we wish more clubs had to hand when they started.

What's in a Peaq rugby kit

The default set is shirt, shorts and socks, designed from scratch around your crest, colours, sponsor and squad numbers. Made in 140gsm performance polyester and sublimated as a single piece, so the design becomes part of the fabric rather than sitting on top of it — it cannot peel, crack or fade out in the wash. Free standard UK delivery on full-squad orders.

That is £30 per player. From there you can layer on a finish upgrade — silicone badges at +£6 a player, holographic at +£12 — or add 1/4-zip training and matchday tops in the same colourway. Tracksuits, polos, gilets and bags are available on request.

One honest note on fabric. Our rugby kit runs the same 140gsm performance polyester as our football kit, sublimated the same way. It is a genuinely good cloth and it holds a design beautifully, but if your side plays a heavy contact schedule and wants something weightier, say so in the enquiry. We would rather have that conversation before you commit than after the box lands.

Numbering a rugby squad

Union runs 1–15 with replacements numbered from 16; league runs 1–13 with a bench from 14. Most clubs order a few numbers deep beyond the matchday squad so a new player or a replacement shirt is not a fresh conversation in October.

Names above numbers, initials, or numbers alone — all included, not an upsell. Tell us which code you play and how deep the squad runs and we will number the set accordingly.

Sizing a rugby squad properly

This is the part of a rugby order that goes wrong most often, and it goes wrong for a reason football kit does not have to deal with: the size range across a rugby squad is enormous. A tight-head prop and a winger are not wearing anything like the same shirt.

Once the design is signed off we send a fit guide tied to the actual fabric and cut, plus a single sizing email to the kit coordinator with a row per player. The squad sizes against existing kit, the coordinator fills in the list, and the kit gets made to that list. A squad spanning small through to 3XL costs no more than one that does not.

Junior and age-grade sides scale the same way — we have sized kit from under-9s upwards. Tell us the age group in the enquiry. Our full guide to running a squad sizing round is in the journal: How to size a kit for a whole squad without getting it wrong.

Crest, sponsor and shirt design

Bring the crest you have. A rough sketch is fine — we will redraw it into print-ready vector artwork during the design rounds at no charge. A proper logo file (SVG, AI, EPS or high-resolution PNG) is better still. We will size it for the chest and, on silicone and holographic packages, for a back-neck mark too.

Sponsor logos go on the front by default, with the back and sleeves available if you are carrying more than one. If your sponsor is being awkward about file formats, send us their website and we will work back from it. More on commissioning a crest that prints cleanly: Designing a club crest that prints clean.

Lead time and pre-season planning

From sign-off and payment to kit in the clubhouse is 4–5 weeks, and frequently quicker — we quote the ceiling rather than the best case so you can plan against it. The full process, from first email through design rounds and sign-off to delivery, typically runs 6–8 weeks end to end.

Clubs that start the conversation in June or July for a September season have the smoothest time of it. Starting in late August for a two-week turnaround is where it gets tight — we will always try, but a good finish wants its lead time. The week-by-week version is in our journal: The pre-season kit timeline, week by week.

Reorders and replacements

We keep your design on file, which covers new players joining mid-season, replacement shirts, and next season's reorder. Single shirts go at the same per-player rate with no setup fee, and reorders skip the design rounds entirely. The artwork is yours — if you ever want to take it elsewhere, we hand over the files.

What a custom rugby kit actually costs

Three squad sizes, real numbers, full-squad pricing with free UK delivery:

  • 15-a-side squad of 20, sublimated: 20 × £30 = £600
  • Squad of 25, silicone: 25 × £36 = £900
  • Squad of 25, silicone + matchday tops: 25 × (£36 + £30) = £1,650

On funding it, the arithmetic is the same whatever the code — subs, a shirt sponsor, club funds or a grant. Both guides apply directly to a rugby club: Kit budgeting for a grassroots committee and Who actually pays for a grassroots kit?

Why design-led teamwear matters

Most teamwear suppliers sell catalogues. You pick a template, change the colours, drop in the badge, and end up looking like four other sides in your league. Peaq works from the opposite assumption: every kit is designed, not configured. The configurator below is a pricing tool, not a design tool — the actual design happens in conversation with you, and we keep iterating until you sign off. No cap on rounds.

More on who we are and how we work: About Peaq. If you also run a football section, the same studio makes that kit too: custom football kits.

Ready to spec your kit?

The configurator below gives you a real number in under a minute — squad size, finish, add-ons, total. No payment, no signup. If the number works, leave your details and we will come back within a working day to start the design conversation.

Process

Four steps
from brief to pitch.

01

Brief

Tell us the club, the sport, and the squad size. A rough colour direction is plenty to start.

02

Design

We iterate with you until the kit looks the way the squad wants it to. Mockups on real kit templates, not flat graphics.

03

Produce

Your signed-off design goes into production. We keep you in the loop at every stage, no silence, no surprises.

04

Deliver

Kits land ready for the squad — fully finished, sorted, and ready to pull on for the first whistle.

Rugby kits, answered

Things rugby clubs
ask first.

Production runs 4–5 weeks from sign-off and payment, and it is often quicker — that is a comfortable ceiling rather than a queue. Tell us your first fixture or tour date in the enquiry and we will work back from it.

The same £30 per player as our football kit — a full match set of shirt, shorts and socks, designed from scratch, with free standard UK delivery on full-squad orders. Silicone badges add £6 a player, holographic £12.

Yes, and it is the thing we plan for first on a rugby order. We send a fit guide tied to the actual fabric and cut, plus a row-per-player sizing list to your kit coordinator. Props and second rows sizing several steps above your wingers is normal and costs nothing extra.

Both. Union squads number 1–15 with replacements, league 1–13. Tell us which code and how deep your squad runs and we will number the set accordingly.

140gsm performance polyester, sublimated as a single piece so the design is part of the fabric and cannot peel or crack. It is the same cloth as our football kit. If your side wants something heavier for a contact-heavy season, say so in the enquiry and we will talk options before you commit.

Yes. Add a 1/4-zip training or matchday top in the configurator. Tracksuits, polos, gilets and bags are available on request in the same colourway and to the same studio standard.

Yes — school and college teams, university clubs, touring sides, charity fixtures and corporate sevens are all in scope. We work with PTA budgets and club treasurers regularly.

We keep your design on file. Single-shirt reorders for new players or replacements ship at the same per-player rate with no setup fee, same artwork, same finish.

You do. The artwork is yours, and if you ever want to take it elsewhere we hand over the files, no questions asked.
